Evening Program

Join us on November 4th in Malibu, California to celebrate the impact The Atlas Society has made this year -- domestically and around the world -- and to share in the great honor of awarding Peter Thiel the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Peter Thiel is an entrepreneur and investor. He co-founded PayPal, led it as CEO, and took it public; he made the first outside investment in Facebook, where he serves as a director; and he co-founded Palantir Technologies, where he serves as chairman.
He has provided early funding for LinkedIn, Yelp, and dozens of startups, many run by former colleagues who have been dubbed the “PayPal Mafia.” He is a partner at Founders Fund, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm that has funded companies including SpaceX and Airbnb.

He started the Thiel Fellowship, which funds young entrepreneurs, and he leads the Thiel Foundation, which works to advance technological progress and long-term thinking. He is also the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future.

Thiel studied philosophy at Stanford University, and on the national and international stage continues to bring a philosophical perspective to bear on the cultural and political challenges of our times.

Introduction and special remarks from Palmer Luckey. Mr. Luckey is an American inventor, innovator, and entrepreneur.  He is the Founder of defense technology company Anduril Industries, designer of the Oculus Rift, a virtual reality head-mounted display, and the Founder of Oculus VR, which was acquired by Facebook in 2014 for $2.3 billion.

Palmer founded Anduril Industries in 2017 to radically transform the defense capabilities of the United States and its allies by fusing artificial intelligence with the latest hardware advancements.

Check out our highlight reel from last year's gala (in the midst of the lockdowns, no less) to get a glimpse of what to expect for this year!

We are pleased to announce that artist Michael Newberry will be at the Gala this year, offering the first public showing of his painting, The Kiss, with half of the proceeds from a sale to benefit The Atlas Society. Mr. Newberry will also be at the reception doing a pastel demo during the cocktail hour.

Visting Malibu, CA

FLIGHTS: We recommend flying into either Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or, if available from your home airport, Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR). While flying into LAX might seem like the most obvious option, BUR is about the same distance to the venue and you are less likely to run into as much traffic.

LODGING: Discounted rates ($315/night) are available to gala guests until October 12th at the Four Seasons Westlake Village. Alternative accommodations can be found at Calamigos Ranch -- where the gala will be -- or the Courtyard by Marriott in Thousand Oaks Agoura Hills.
