Join Objectivley Speaking with Atlas Society Senior Scholar Richard Salsman on Wednesday, July 22 @ 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET.

Can a man be both a disciple of Ayn Rand and a chief architect of monetary central planning, or does one betray the other?

Alan Greenspan (1926-2026) was one of the most respected and consequential practicing economists of the 20th century. Salsman explains Greenspan’s long career success and high global reputation as due partly to his affiliation with philosopher Ayn Rand (1951-1982) but also to less-than-honorable compromises he felt were necessary to becoming a monetary central planner at the Federal Reserve (1987-2006).
