He recounts the experience, which ended after his testimony during Trump’s impeachment trial, in his book The Envoy: Mastering the Art of Diplomacy with Trump and the World. A successful entrepreneur, Sondland is the founder of Provenance Hotels and director and managing member of the Aspen Companies, a diversified private equity firm, which has presided over a billion dollars in transactions since 1987. The son of Holocaust survivors, Sondland recently sponsored the Auschwitz Exhibition at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
