Join us for Objectively Speaking with David Zweig on Wednesday, July 30 @ 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. For years, many Americans were fed a narrative about the necessity of school closures—and the minimal harms of such a drastic intervention—by public health officials, teachers unions, the media and Democrat politicians.  As more and more of these Americans wake up from this narrative, independent journalist and author David Zweig’s new book can help them come to grips with how they were misled. An Abundance of Caution: American Schools, the Virus, and a Story of Bad Decisions offers a devastating account of the decision-making process behind one of the worst American policy failures in a century—the extended closures of public schools during the pandemic.

Zweig is a writer, musician, and freelance journalist whose articles have appeared in various publications, including The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, and TheFree Press, as well as his newsletter, Silent Lunch. Zweig has testified twice before Congress as an expert witness on school policies during COVID, and his investigative reporting on pandemic policies has been cited in numerous Congressional letters and a brief to the Supreme Court. His previous books include Invisibles: The Power of Anonymous Work in an Age of Relentless Self-Promotion and Swimming Inside the Sun.
