James Jameson

James Jameson is Chairman and / or major shareholder of companies in aerospace, agriculture, education, publishing, book distribution, film production, and real estate in 20 countries around the world.

Mr. Jameson serves on the Advisory Board for the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California at San Diego,  on the Board of Overseers at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Reason Foundation, a policy think tank focused on free market solutions to societal problems.

Mr. Jameson was the International President of the Young Presidents Organization from 1989 to 1990.  He previously chaired the Advisory Council for the School of Global Policy and Strategy at the University of California at San Diego.  For 14 years, from 2005 to 2018, he served on the Advisory Board of Trilantic, a Merchant Bank successor to Lehman Brothers Merchant Bank.

In 1992 and 1993, he held the position of Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development in the George H.W. Bush Administration and was a member of the Board of the Export Import Bank of the United States and The Overseas Private Investment Corporation. He also served as a member of the U.S. Polish Action Commission, chaired by Zbigniew Brzezinski, which has been involved in the economic development of Poland.

Mr. Jameson spent 8 years from 1976 to 1984 involved in farmland development in Saudi Arabia helping the country become self-sufficient in food production.

Mr. Jameson is actively involved in education in Africa having founded the Uganda Nursing School in Bwindi, Uganda which has now become a full-fledged university:  African University of Science and Management.  He also founded and is a partner in the Discovery School International Kigali in Rwanda focused in primary school education.

Mr. Jameson has authored ‘Capitalist at Large’ highlighting his engagement as a businessman in emerging markets.

He graduated from Stanford University with both a B.A. and M.B.A.  He is married, has two children, one grandson and resides in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
